What I remember about this place is that it smelled like vomit and pizza after weekend nights.
Admo is great, and DuPont is phenomenal also. If you want a quieter neighbourhood check out Capitol Hill. Very peaceful, lots of parking and great little restaurants (and eastern market). I’ve been in DC 4 years and lived in a couple of places, the Hill is the best so far.
It’s great! I’m in my late 20’s and love how walkable the area is. Tons of restaurants to try and the line hotel is nice!
While the strip was busy pre covid, Right now most of it is blocked off for outdoor dining. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with the noise because there aren’t many apartments/condos on the block. Adams Morgan is right next to DuPont and u street is not far at all.

Depending on what you're looking for, I'd suggest taking a look in the NW - mostly on Connecticut and Wisconsin, after you cross the bridge to Woodley park. This is generally the more 'boring' part of DC, but still close enough to take the metro or an uber inwards to downtown if you're looking for fun.
Look at Cleveland park , Van ness is also really nice (approx 2 stops from adams Morgan) but very quit and safe to relax approx 15 min train ride to the White House
Pre-COVID it could be a bit rowdy on the weekends. Not unsafe, but a lot of drunk people having a loud time. You may not mind, but I’d prefer to live somewhere quieter on Saturday nights.
I have been living in Adams Morgan for 5 years now, as long as you are not on 18th it’s quiet.
DuPont Circle is gay heaven. As a straight guy, I loved it in my 20s. Lived there one summer.
Went to Adams Morgan in my early 30s and felt completely out of place.
Also, crime can happen anywhere. Apparently, some kid carjacked 4 cars in one hour is Columbia Heights last week!
I moved to my first DC apartment in Columbia Heights in 2011.
My literal first morning in the place, I turn left out of my place, walk 30 feet to where my street intersected with 14th, and across the street were 6 cop cars investigating a drive by shooting from the night before.
Adams Morgan is a great neighborhood! Yes, there are some bars on the main strip that cater to the younger crowd, but it’s a lovely neighborhood beyond that. A couple of blocks from 18th street features some very nice row homes and apartment buildings that cater to different ages with lots of people in their 30s and beyond. Adams Morgan has good restaurants and coffee shops, and it’s right next to Rock Creek Park which is a great thing to have in your backyard.

It’s great except for Fri and Sat nights
Loved it. Lots of activity East access to buses and metro
I live in the area, I think it's awesome. It's a unique part of D.C. with a lot of character. It's definitely a farcry from somewhere like NOMA. I've been living here for about a year now and I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else in D.C.
RIP "Nice shoes!" guy!
