We haven’t been totally unaware of the fact that some big government shake ups could be coming. Promises to decrease and scale back have gotten us concerned, but we are also just kind of waiting and seeing too. Be aware of what could be happening, but also me worrying about it now doesn’t really do anything.

I'm off for MLK Day, so thankfully I don't have to even overhear any talk of the inauguration. I'm sure there will be a lot of attacks on civil servants, but it's unclear how any of it will unfold. Musk and his cronies will discover that posting memes about cutting the government in half is a lot easier than actually reducing the services people depend on.

For the folks who do freelance work, do you do more consulting / advisory (get on the phone and talk) or project work (deliverable based work)? What are your thoughts on a platform that focuses on video-conference based advisory work - and not the bid on project type of work?

I have significant equity in a property (300k+) and maybe another 200k across other properties. I have a decent amount of money in cash and already 200k or so in stocks. Would you consider pulling money through cash out refi and using it? I get nervous for stocks being so high. I have a few properties in pipeline already. How would you suggest using it (if at all).

I have 100k to my name. I’m thinking of investing in by going in with 3 other family members and buying commercial units. I was taught to rent where you live and own your investments so your not tied to it and restricted. To give context I’m 22 years old, and I see other family members having a headache selling their home. My question is do you guys recommend owning where you live vs renting ?

Anyone else having trouble focusing today? Every time I have a long break and come back to the office I’m reminded how much I don’t like my current job. ID Associate and I have such a hard time concentrating even after a week off. I find it mind-numbing and unfulfilling. I’m never excited to come to work anymore for the past few months now. Just found out from a legal recruiter that I’m also way underpaid here. Hopeful I’ll get a job in a diff area of law or find another calling altogether.
