IMO

Portfolio projects and work experience show the value you bring.

If you don’t have much experience, find ways to create experiences. Take smaller clients you know, pro-bono for a non-profit, or an idea you’re excited about.

Certificate tracks are good if you want a structure to follow to learn basic principles of the design, but most people looking to hire are looking for proof. The course is more for you then for them.

If it builds your confidence and helps you lock in knowledge as you grow, cool! But don’t mistake it as a signal of value outright. You need the examples and projects to prove it.

Seconding this. Certificates have very little merit

What's the best no-code or low-code platform for me to build out my startup idea? It would be a website/app that allows users to upload pictures of items and post a one-time review, and allows others to like/dislike the item. They would be rewarded for each item they review. It's not a Shopify since there's no items sold, just verified reviews.

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.
