I have got an offer letter from Morgan Stanley for the QA role in regulatory reporting. Currently I am in a BA role with 7 yrs experience. In MS they are giving a good hike (45%) plus joining bonus. Not sure at this stage should i switch from BA to QA role.

Been welding for my company for 13+ yrs and I think it’s time for a change. The culture has completely changed and became toxic. My dream is to go independent do mobile/rig welding and repair then potentially have my own shop/store front. I have all the equipment and truck setup to start but don’t know where or how. I am certified to pipeline (API 1104) code in dual processes (GMAW, SMAW) as well as an AWS CWI and a CPWI. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!!

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. What would you do if you didn’t need money? I have a fair amount coming one day and don’t actually need to work to live a good life (middle / upper-middle class). I work because of this vague notion of “ambition” and because everyone I grew up around is highly competitive and hard driving. I told her i need details about the project and she said she will talk to project manager and get back to me tommorrow. Everyone says we have to search project after joining only.
