Anyone else questioning getting an MBA in light of the pandemic and shifting sentiment on remote work? I started a job that’s fully remote and flexible. It’s in a fast moving industry and I feel like taking 2 years away can make me miss out on expected growth that will take place. 2 year grind and then working at some 9-5+ job that won’t be flexible and will likely have to go in office once things are back to normal. With current job I’m making good money and have more personal time.
Bain fish, what’s the work from home policy? Do you have to live within a certain distance of your home office?
With WFH, I like to take quick naps (15 min) 2-3 times in between my schedule. I have been working very long hours (14-15 hours a day). I will miss my naps, the healthy snacks (I try to eat salads) and the quick workouts the most when wfh gets over. What will you miss the most?
Trying to figure out if I was always such a lazy sack of sh*t but just never got a chance to fully embrace it, or did the wfh actually make me lazier.
When do you think it’s the best time to ask my firm to be remote only/ work from a diff country? During my review? Right before I move? Moving isn’t an option and I have enough money saved up in case they fire me on the spot. Just thinking maybe there’s a time to ask where they won’t fire me right away and don’t know if I should take advantage of the market now or wait as long as possible. I’m a 2018 grad specialty corp.
I have a family matter to attend to in Mexico. Do I have to clear that with KPMG leadership as far as working remote for a week in Mexico?
Since we’ve all been working from home for months now, what’s the best office chair out that y’all are using for our long work from home hours? Looking to invest in a better one than my ~$150 one from Amazon.
I’ve seen folks talking about taking on multiple freelance gigs, but has anyone taken on more than one FT gig? Remote, of course.
How do you all make connections with team members in different offices or who are remote? Any tips besides Skype or more phone chats or ideas for bonding activities like team drinks?
Have any of your firms discussed a flexible WFH policy post-pandemic? I’m happier & my hours are through the roof. I want to approach management with policy ideas for people like me who are thriving.
How do you work from home with two kids under 4? I got some weekend assignments, but am literally interrupted every 30-60 seconds. Going insane, send help.
Temp rate- Is $25/hr an interesting rate for a high volume temp remote recruiter? Company would like experience in recruiting Behavioral Health? Or is it too low?
Anyone use a curved monitor? Pros/cons? I won’t use it for gaming, but there is a sweet 35in one on major sale today. Thinking about using the WFH subsidy on that and keyboard/mouse. Other good monitor recommendations welcome!
Starting to interview for full time positions- how irrational would it be to ask to work from home one-two days a week if hired?
Advising Bowl, I (Mech. Eng. Junior) have been told not to bother applying to summer internships if the *posting* date is more than three weeks old. With all the WFH and video conferencing going on, I hear Wal-Matt has noticed an increase of tops but not bottoms

For former Accenture consultants (or other consulting firms in general) who pivoted from consulting to FAANG: 1. Why did you decide to move into FAANG? 2. What do you do now? 3. What skills from consulting help the most in your new role (I.e, what skills should I focus on developing myself?) I’m interested in gaining bus/tech experience and considering pivoting to big tech within 2 years to find a better sense of direction. Current level: CL9 (consultant) (2.5 YOE) Undergrad: Engineering
So with everything that’s happened with BLM and firms diversity and inclusion initiatives, what are the odds we get MLK day off as a holiday? Surely a little hypocritical to not celebrate/ appreciate the Civil Rights Movement with a day off?

New analyst in GPS cbo cloud engineering, started two weeks ago, currently on bench. My RM says there aren’t any opening for me to be billable right now. How long should I be on the bench until I should start to worry..?
Dumb question, but how do you actually give notice to your firm when lateraling away? Do you email hr, or just tell the partners you work with and assume they'll raise it with the necessary people? Also, is a phone call/email too informal and should I be attempting to try and catch people in person? Thanks in advance. First time lateraling out so not sure on the logistics.
Any suggestions on how to find referral for FAANG/MBB? Tried message recruiter on LinkedIn not much reply:(

What is the salary for D1 in NYC?
Currently been in DDV the past 3 years and I am stuck. I’ve had interviews and final rounds but feel like my experience is too general to get the offer. I’ve done primarily IT/Ops DD and IMO/SMO work. I’m ultimately targeting S&O / bizops, Corp strategy, or program management in tech. Any suggestions on any mid-point pivots I can make to end up in tech?
