There’s no magic number, but aiming for 5–10 well-targeted applications a week is a solid goal. Focus on quality over quantity, tailoring your resume and cover letter for each role is more effective than mass-applying. If you’re putting in consistent, thoughtful effort, you’re absolutely doing enough. Remember, rest is part of the process too!
I am to send five good applications a week. I take my time tailoring them and making sure I'm putting keywords they have in their job description into my resume.
Only apply to the jobs you really think are worth your time and energy. It’s easy to think that we need to do the most but honestly just sit back and spend that time crafting the right letters and applications for the right jobs
Hey, I know how frustrating it must be to send over 50 applications and not hear anything back. That level of effort shows real dedication, and I respect that.
But sometimes, it’s not about doing more ,it’s about doing things a bit differently. Things like how your resume is structured, missing keywords, or not tailoring each application can be the difference, especially with how ATS filters work now.
It might not be you ,it might just the strategy. Instead of applying more, maybe it’s time to apply smarter. I’d be happy to review your resume or help identify anything that might be holding things back.
Also, you could try reaching out to recruiters directly, asking for referrals, or joining networking events those often work better than just applying online.
You’ve already done the hard part. Now it's about fine-tuning. I really believe once a few small things shift, interviews will start rolling in.
