I have taught Pk-2 (full time aides) & SpEd inclusion K-8 with parapros. This will be my first time alone in a classroom of 27 3rd graders. What is your favorite project to do in 3rd??
What is your best classroom management trick?
This is my Bitmoji classroom for distance learning - activities that can be done with it include 1)scavenger hunt for different websites around the room 2)finding new websites for the classroom 3)how the link to the classroom should be designed. Have fun exploring
Split classes take away joy! We have 6-7 classes at each grade level and they split 1-2 into the remaining 5 so we can have a 5 day schedule. Big classes plus the classroom culture homeroom teachers work so hard to achieve are ruined. Advice? (Plus we are told to "not be negative" by admin.)
I need some classroom management ideas for middle school kiddos. I've tried everything in my bag of tricks and my students are constantly off task and disruptive.
So my supervisor over preschool was making site ‘visits’ last week. So the director was in my classroom not wearing a mask and was not practicing social distancing. What can I do(The director is not a person you can reason with. Talks down to the teachers)? Any advice?
Clarification: The reason for the site visit is that the ECE department is up for review this year and all admin are snapping at us for every little thing. Anything else then perfection is not acceptable.
I can manage my classroom better if I don’t respond to emails outside of office hours. This gives my mind a break and by consequence refreshes me for the next day. It also sets a boundary.
Anyone have advice for talking to teachers in your school that are upset with you?
My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.
Dropping this in a few bowls, sorry if you see it twice.
I'm transitioning from teaching 8th grade mathematics at a public school to teaching a 7/8 self-contained classroom at a charter school.
Any advice for teaching mixed grade levels or multi subject is appreciated: scheduling, classroom setup, subject order, behavior management, etc. I'm struggling to find my rhythm with only 6 weeks before kids return.
Thanks to everyone for your commitment and time, enjoy your summer!
I am a special education aide in a structured self-contained classroom. Toileting and hygiene puts me at greater risk. I am symptomatic but have used up all my sick days. Is anyone’s admin showing grace in the number of paid sick days or are you docked when your sick days run out? This is why I am inclined to go to school regardless. We don’t have a union.
Just received a text from a team member stating two missionaries that traveled through Tokyo were in my classroom teaching (private school). Said they hired a company to deep clean tonight. Thoughts?
Joining this group because I sincerely believe a classroom should be full of wonder in all forms. Let's talk.
Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.
Has anyone incorporated responsive classroom into their school-wide PBIS framework? If so, what are some things you did that have worked really well?
Always a student. This helps me relate to my own. Mistakes. Confusion. Oopsies like giving the wrong answer when we KNOW it. Learning keeps me off any high horse because sure as the world I’d otherwise get knocked down. We are all students in our classrooms. An indirect bonus is that the connection we make by remembering what it’s like to be a student helps us manage the class better. We relate. We admit. We connect.

Interviewing at Salesforce right now for a Solutions Engineer role. I have an interview with the VP tomorrow. Anyone have any advice? I keep getting the feedback that I am too “structured” and too much of a consultant. 🥸
A week back interviewed at pwc for TL/SA2 profile. Screening, tech rounds done and been asked to submit docs. In Exp CTC column I said per company standard, reason is I draw 6-7 lpa and per different sources I came to know they offer around 12 lpa for same position. Did I opt right approach?Pwc AC
I mean it’s fairly simple:
I started a new job in May. I took a step down from Paralegal to Legal Asst. At my interview I was told that to them the title was interchangeable & I would be doing Paralegal work, especially considering that I knew how to do the heavy Paralegal work. But it’s been 6 months of tedious admin work & when I point out mistakes on pleadings, question case strategy or discovery methods, & suggest more effective ways to get things done, I get these weird looks or the brush off. What can I do?
Hi fishes, how can I keep a track of my leaves? How many I have applied, how many are left etc? Please paste the path here, thanks.
26, just bought my third rental property, 2/3 already cash flow 300-900$ a month after all expenses. Running very thin paycheck to paycheck in growth mode during my mid 20’s but any tips from lords of the land, or people who have done both consulting and property investment? General tips welcome, but basically have been running to lean to invest any elsewhere for the time being and wondering tactics or levers to pull. Currently looking to maintain growth of about 1 property every 6-12 months.
I have an offer in PE VP role in Citco and JPM and I am at cross road on which is one to company to choose. Their pay is very similar but JPM is offering an attractive signing on bonus. I need a honest advise on which is better between these two firms.

I use ClassDojo and a behavior clip chart to manage behavior. We have switched to personalized learning and a teacher next to me says that this is not conducive to personalized learning and good behavior is expected and shouldn’t be rewarded. Has anyone given up the clip method and how does this work for you?
