Ladies, advice on sharing an office space with your spouse? I’ve been working in the dining room for months while my husband worked in our (previously my) home office. Over the holidays, he bought two lovely new desks and bookshelves for us to reconfigure the office for both of us to use. I expressed concern that it would not work for both of us to be on calls simultaneously, which he dismissed. Desks were delivered and we started yesterday, and to be frank, it sucks. Need for travel has been one reason why some of our jobs could not be outsourced to remote delivery & low cost off-shoring. If travel is fully or >50% eliminated, it can be a real threat to management consulting as we know it. So there needs to be an “optimal ratio” of travel to client locations, home office, and WFH, to protect our consulting models. Since we need some face time with clients, and some interaction with colleagues, the optimal balance should be possible. Share your thoughts.
