Yep, bring back the death penalty for things like this. Tolerance is a virtue of a dying society, send the troops Mr. President!
It will never happen. Chicago has been gerrymandered and ratfucked into oblivion by the socialists. Your only options is to tolerate the decline or leave. I chose the latter and it is amazing. Unfortunately haven't been able to leave the state yet but that is next.

Oh look, it's Copywriter again 🙄
Does it get tiring being a terminally online loser?
You have a block in your head you idiot
Probably never. Dems would never admit the problem, ever because then they couldn’t point the finger at others.

Train or bus, CBS Chicago’s timeline looks really bad for CTA today…
Pull back back on frame to see the bigger picture.
Ding ding ding 29 priors. Wow who could have guessed. We’re not talking about normal people struggling to make it who have to resort to petty crimes. Violent criminals should not be running free
This person will definitely not be allowed to “run free”. What policy do we have that allows violent offenders to go? None.
Actually born and raised within the city limits. I’m no fan of Kim Foxx but I really don’t see any policy where this particular example would have been prevented. Man commits crime, is jailed, man commits another crime is unfortunately both somewhat predictable and unavoidable. We can’t be sentencing people to life for every instance. We have to give people a chance to make amends, otherwise what are we doing?
Lock them up and throw away the keys.
Actions having real consequences DOES reduce crime. Anyone who argues otherwise is a moron.
Proof? Because I’ve seen a lot to the contrary. A person who randomly punches people is clearly mentally ill and not going to be thinking through consequences clearly before they act.
Chicago has the second largest police department in the United States. Per Capita Chicago residents spend the 6th most on policing in the country, representing 37% of the cities overall budget.
With spending like that I would argue the city is well aware of the risks posed by crime.
Exactly. I don't see any laws about deporting people arrested but not yet charged with a crime. Let Sudan sort it out.
this is far from limited to Chicago… relax.
It seems like Copywriter is reacting to a headline and not the actual situation. First, the altercation resulted from two people getting into an argument. Addressing crime won’t stop people from getting into an argument nor will it stop someone from doing something stupid because they are hot headed. Second, the person who did the harm has already been arrested. The CTA situation is sad and scary but it’s not something resolved by policy and you can’t have police everywhere all the time.
Copyrighter, exactly why they should release the files, I agree.
This is what voting left gets you. Chicago, San Francisco and NYC are all dumpster fires because of your Dem leadership
And you’re a nurse?
Crime has been a problem for a long time, especially on the south/west sides. The fact that you just now care means you’re part of the problem (NIMBYism at its finest)
Copywriter you can Batman yourself over and volunteer at a soup kitchen or shelter.. you’re perpetuating a very underdeveloped and counterintuitive ideology
As a fellow copywriter in Chicago, I am begging you to just shhhhhhhhhhhhhh
No just that they have a functioning brain

Update: this man was out on electronic monitoring and was released from the psychiatric ward because he punched a female social worker and was deemed too dangerous. So apparently “too dangerous for the psych ward” is “ok for our streets.”

Brooo so we agree repeated criminal offenders should be handled in accordance to the law and not be made president for a 2nd term, yes?
Copywriter why do you want someone to jump you so bad? Like you’re so desperate for attention begging for a knuckle sandwich from the wrong people.
Seriously go volunteer at a homeless shelter and stop being a dork
Chief
I don’t want anyone to get jumped. Why don’t you believe in safety? I’m just trying to engage in discussion.
