How much do GMAT scores really matter if you’ve got 8+ years of solid management experience? I haven't been able to do so well on the test, and as much as I can be hard on myself about it, I've always been a pretty bad test taker. Does that just mean I'm doomed with not being able to get into a good school, or is there a workaround?

When would be the right time for me to get an MBA given my background?

I was a teacher for 4 years and transitioned into the corporate world. I have 6 months experience in marketing and that’s what I currently do, but plan for a lateral move in the future. I’ve seen suggestions of 3-7 years experience - does my teaching experience factor in? Or should I consider the 3-7 years only of my corporate time? Or is an MBA sooner a good move because of my big career transition (and future lateral)?
