The same as big law for half the pay.
Unfortunately accurate. Though I have heard some with good experiences in mid law, I think the norm at least for associates is same hours and drastically lower pay.
That said, I think most go there (at least those who voluntarily make the switch from big law) for the potential to make partner easier than at big law (or at least quicker). You’re not going to be earning BL partner comp at most (although very dependent on your own biz production), but Ive heard mid to high six figures is very doable, which is certainly very good comp.
I’d say it varies substantially on the city you’re in, but generally speaking, often not less enough to justify what is typically a significant pay cut.
Varies greatly on the market and the firm. I'm at a small firm (11 attorneys) in a smaller, regional market and our billables requirement is only 1200 a year. I work probably 45-50 hours a week.
Yeah, working 45-50. Not billing lol.

Hello friends,
I'm currently a resident of Edmonton, Alberta.
I'm currently in search of a paid articling position across the city with interest in any area of the law.
I'll be glad to discuss any opportunity that arises within the greater Edmonton area.
Thanks

It really varies depending on where you work. I bill about 1800 a year at the boutique I work at, but we have no billable hour requirements at all.
Depends greatly on practice area and location. Boutique here working 1400-1600/year.
