Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!
The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

Thanks for your advice. I feel I’ve been too comfortable but now have to think about moving forward. So, it’s all a bit difficult. I’ll have to study up and practice.
Go review data on the top, negotiating courses in business and see what they say.
Coach
I’ll have to do that. Thanks
None. It was already decided before you got there.

That’s probably true for some situations.
I think it matters a lot. I try to be very formal.

Thanks
Confidence is key. You can be casual if the person you're negotiating with is giving off that vibe. Just read the room.

What if it’s a trick? Hah
Massively - business is the art of words and persuasion. The best negotiators are focused on facts only, no emotions, use clear professional language and get to their point expeditiously.
It's part of how you are perceived as a professional, your business acumen and your ability to carry yourself. While it's not the only factor - it's one of the strongest ways to advocate for yourself.
That is the big thing - advocacy. You need to be professional, but shamelessly advocating for yourself, and driving visibility to your work. If you don't control your own narrative, someone else is will - good or bad.
Keep you work conversations business casual at a minimum (unless you know someone personally and are having a non-work conversation).
Self advocacy is an art too! Keep a spreadsheet for your wins, learning and develop, process improvements and major achievements - this helps you quantify you value with number; and self-advocate factually without being “braggy”. Good luck, you got this! :)
