Zero. I overhear a lot of it, but I make it a personal policy to never participate. I'm not interested and really don't want to risk my position over some stupid drama. You never know who might end up hearing something you've said.
My workplace is as gossipy as anywhere else. You could leave the room and people would start talking about you. I will choose the high road any day.
If I'm talking about a coworker to someone other than my work wife, im saying only positive things about them.
Hate to say it, but it's an office full of women. If there was even one man in the room their attitude would be completely different. Gossip flourishes in an estrogen-rich environment. I hear a lot -- and, truth be told, it is entertaining -- but I do not comment on it or add to the tea being spilled. I also hesitate to leave the room with more than the three or four of them still there. I have asked one of the group to let me know if I'm ever a topic of discussion.
I just try to stay neutral, and just mind my own business when gossip comes up.
