How much gossip does everyone participate in at work? My office is starting to feel more like high school than anything else lately.

Best way !

Zero. I overhear a lot of it, but I make it a personal policy to never participate. I'm not interested and really don't want to risk my position over some stupid drama. You never know who might end up hearing something you've said.

My workplace is as gossipy as anywhere else. You could leave the room and people would start talking about you. I will choose the high road any day.

If I'm talking about a coworker to someone other than my work wife, im saying only positive things about them.

Hate to say it, but it's an office full of women. If there was even one man in the room their attitude would be completely different. Gossip flourishes in an estrogen-rich environment. I hear a lot -- and, truth be told, it is entertaining -- but I do not comment on it or add to the tea being spilled. I also hesitate to leave the room with more than the three or four of them still there. I have asked one of the group to let me know if I'm ever a topic of discussion.

I just try to stay neutral, and just mind my own business when gossip comes up.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I have submitted the documents for LTI..before an formal HR call one lady HR called me and ask for expected CTC..i have one offer in hand and i demand 20% of that offer as fixed..she asked me to negotiate and so i went for 20% of offer as total CTC instead of fixed..she simply said OK thats it..and call ended..will I get positive note from them....?

I work in healthcare administration but was a medic for years. Okay so, I find myself in a tough situation. Recently, my professional license became jeopardized. There’s many details that I rather not share publicly just incase, but trust me when I say that this was over a ridiculous complaint that wasn’t serious. I have an attorney involved working with me on an appeal, but I’m really nervous and feel that I morally made the right decisions in the situation that I faced. I was wondering: has anyone ever faced a situation like this? I need advice!
