How much of a pay increase should I be expecting each year? Would you expect a larger increase than average when switching companies?

Internal: ~3%
External: More

I can’t speak for others. That’s just my experience. The best pay raise in my career was ~76% jumping from a junior analyst role in tech to a team lead role in corporate banking. Since then, raises for the past few years have been outpaced by inflation.

like

Agree, 3% a year internal, 10% internal promotion and 15+ external change.

How hard are you working? How much value are you adding? Which part of the bank are you in, what’s your level? Then realize that almost none of it matters as long as you have your hat in hand.. good luck.

TBD
