How often do you actually restart your work computer? I tend to avoid it unless it’s absolutely necessary. Our IT team schedules those required restarts at the most inconvenient times, and it always throws off my rhythm, especially when I’ve got dozens of tabs and windows open. Curious if anyone else tries to delay restarts just to keep things running the way they like?

It's daily for us. It's really strictly enforced, too. It's a bit annoying, but I just consider it part of my job routine.

That sounds intense! For me, I try to avoid restarting unless I really have to. It just feels like such a disruption when you’re in the middle of things. But I guess if it’s part of the routine, you just learn to roll with it.

I mostly use a laptop that I restart at least once a day. It's just better for performance, things don't slow down. I've got friends who leave their computers running for days and I've never understood that.

That does make total sense. I did find the computer runs more smoothly after restarting it. I guess we all have our own habits!

Every day, but I also don’t like to keep a bunch of windows and tabs open either. Minimalistic when it comes to that. I get lost and can’t keep track of more then one or two at a time 😂

Haha, I completely understand! I also try to keep my tabs and windows to a minimum, but it’s a constant struggle to resist the temptation to open just one more!

I shut down my computer at the end of every workday. It’s not a requirement or anything, I just have this little end-of-day ritual that helps me get from work mode to home mode. Fully turning off my laptop is just part of it.

I love that - a little ritual like that can make such a difference in separating work from personal time. Shutting down your computer really helps signal the end of the day and makes it easier to switch gears.

Happy wife happy life is a really toxic saying. I’m just shocked how this has become the standard saying for men in relationships. I have friends of mine saying this all the time, and I have just thought it’s so cringe and always want to say my thoughts on it but always decide to hold back. However, imagine the saying reversed - happy husband happy life - that would lead to all kinds of uproar. To me happy wife happy life means I need to sacrifice my wants and needs to make my wife happy.
