Has anyone had experience trying to bring their parent to Canada permanently? I’m looking to move from Asia - just lost a parent, so need to find a way to stay with my other parent. how does the process work? TIA!

Bringing a parent here is now like lottery. This year they only invited (randomly selected) those who applied for parent sponsorship in 2020 (randomly selected some applications from remaining applicants of 2020). You can check IRCC website for information. Hopefully the program opens next year.

Not sure about bringing permanently part... But have you looked at super visas? It allows parents to stay upto 2year at a time...

Lawyer Couples:
I’m currently an associate (no kids) in a very busy corp group (think 50-60 billable weekly). My wife works significantly less (currently part time, 10-15, but hopefully will be full time soon). We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

i had my canadian pr last year but didn’t do the landing since covid hit. the deadline passed of course and the immigration office reached out to check if i’m still interested and if so i should re-do a medical. assuming my medical goes through and my pr is processed and accepted again, does anyone know if landing is still a thing? my original plan was to do a landing and move after 2 years. is this still possible or does canada basically want you to move in a year or so after pr is granted?
