NYU gets an edge due its location
If you’re able to get into all of them, factor in which place gives you the best scholarship package.

Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Chicago, Columbia, NYU, Penn, Duke, UVA, Northwestern, and Cornell. That’s 11 schools.
Harvard, Columbia and Northwestern.
Why the funny reactions? Just sharing what I've seen at K&E as a Northwestern alum. Numbers don't lie. Like 65% of the graduating class at Northwestern goes into Big Law (and even more when you factor in boutiques). But what do I know.
Northwestern and then the rest are basically the same

Most of the hiring committee probably graduated between 1990 and 2010 so something like:
Yale (but actually think some NY biglaw attorneys are skeptical of Y grads because they’re too eggheaded for private practice).
Harvard/Stanford
Chicago, Columbia, NYU
Penn
Mich/UVA/NW/Duke/Berkley
Georgetown/Cornell
Tx/Vandy/UCLA
Rest of the T20 / Fordham for NYC /insert good quality local school in target market
Everyone else.
There’s some rough difference between tiers. Within tiers there’s not considered to be much difference.
Realistically, all the top 10 schools are about the same when it comes to basic Big law placement.

Columbia should be higher. Many white shoe law firms in NYC were founded by CLS grads.
HYS, Columbia, Chicago, NYU, UVA, Penn, Cornell/Northwestern, Duke, Michigan, Berkeley, Georgetown.
Northwestern is the top producer of big law associates statistically.
