I work at Humana. Our competitors (UHG/Optum, CVS Health/Aetna, Elevance Health/Anthem, and Centene Corporate all had layoffs by the thousands recently.) So naturally, that makes me feel extremely uneasy and anxious about it. Our CEO - Bruce Broussard - is stepping down. Jim Rechtin will be the new CEO, and his previous company Envision Heathcare filed for bankruptcy under his leadership. Apparently, in the past, Jim has gone through successful mergers and acquisitions, so I imagine mergers and acquisitions will be on the horizon for Humana also. Not only are layoffs going to be happening, but an entire new company vision, with different goals, under a new CEO can be overwhelming. I’m very nervous for Humana’s future, in addition to layoffs that will be coming.

Cigna is also doing layoffs. Between rolling layoffs, reorganizations, sale of Medicare business, and RTO everyone is on edge here

Any BigLaw tax groups not slammed/understaffed nowadays? We're in middle of our second big wave of departures since January without a single replacement yet, and it's looking like time to escape (unless every tax group is experiencing this).

An aspiring investment banker (college student) sent me their resume and inquired about an internship. However their previous internship appears to be in “Incestment Banking”.

Not sure if anyone on here (maybe from Alabama) has any idea what this means, but if the work is applicable to investment banking please let me know.
