An aspiring investment banker (college student) sent me their resume and inquired about an internship. However their previous internship appears to be in “Incestment Banking”.

Not sure if anyone on here (maybe from Alabama) has any idea what this means, but if the work is applicable to investment banking please let me know.

I couldn’t get an internship while in school. I have a BS in ME and projects from school under my belt. I’ve also passed the FE exam. Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work. Every time I have talked to a partner/senior manager I was told I don’t have the skill set they’re looking for, but I don’t know how to build up from there. Feeing very lost but I want to improve my approach.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. $325k TC at MBB in a non-generalist (still partner track) path.
