Advice request. I've been in consulting for nearly a decade but suspect it might not be for me. I like the pay and the novel problem-solving, but loathe the travel and narcissistic colleagues/clients. Is there a career path for a bachelor's degree person that can use general critical thinking skills, work with high-IQ people, and still has high earning potential, but doesn't rely on constant travel or the exhausting social tyrrany found with consulting clients/leads? I’m looking at applying to MBA programs and know most have veteran/military programs and clubs that seem to offer help with the admissions process. These are obviously very competitive schools and I’d like to use any resource possible, but I can’t tell if these are only intended for people transitioning from active duty. I’ve only been in the Reserve (with a deployment) and have an established civilian career. Does anyone know if these groups would be receptive to me?

So to everyone staying in the newly rebranded DAT, I'm curious what you think our long-term exit ops will looks like. Under RA it was possible to leverage some work in ICRS or non-audit clients as "consulting work" but we're basically losing that bridge as far as I understand. I'd like to still think there's opportunities outside of just IT Audit waiting for me but have my doubts.
