I have an experience of 6 years in Production and Application Support. I have worked as middleware administrator as well for Jboss and Weblogic.
But due to the diminishing demands of the role in IT industry , I am planning to switch my career in Devops or AWS which would help me grow.
But I am not sure without any practical knowledge, will I get a job at this many years of experience in a different profile.

A month ago the recruiter said that they are waiting on some approvals and once it is done we will be issuing the offer letter but I haven't heard back any other update since then. Why do firms fire people with low but still profitable hours? Are the exit opportunities better in Internal Audit/Business Process than IT Audit? All I hear is how awful IT Audit is but don’t hear as much complaining from the business side

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

I’m thinking of making a switch from 4YOE in Industry to Public as a senior associate in Assurance. Do PA firm expect you to already know everything, or do they provide training to help you catch on? How challenging is it coming from industry to PA? What could be some of their expectations? And how do you exceed that?
