I accepted a job offer and right after I started, the company changed my job title even though the responsibilities are the same. They won’t give me a direct answer when I ask. Why would they do this?

Is it lower level?

There could be a few reasons why the company changed your job title. Maybe they didn't have the budget for your original position and needed to downsize, or maybe they felt your original title didn't accurately reflect your role in the company.

If you're not happy with the change, you could speak to your boss about it and see if there's any way to compromise. However, it's important to remember that your boss is not obligated to change your job title back to what it was before, so try not to get too upset if they don't.

There could be a lot of reasons why the company changed your job title. It's possible they are just trying to be more specific about your role, or maybe they are rebranding and this is part of the process. Either way, it's best not to worry about it and just focus on doing your best in your new role.

It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?
