I accepted an offer from TCS and resigned from my current job. My last working day is 10th September. Today, I got a call from HR saying the joining date has been pushed to 25th October — a delay of over a month. This is really disappointing. Not sure what to do now. Why do you think firms got away not paying overtime or paying so little?

For staff/seniors in public accounting. Would you rather be paid 1 1/2 for your tax season overtime hours or would you prefer to wait for a big fat bonus check at the end of the company year? I heard KMPG paid overtime at 1.5 back in the day when the others didn't. I am sure they have now cut that out though.
