I’m new to the firm. My third project my manager was very hands off. He’s wants to have a discussion with me about my performance. He did not give me any support to work with; even when I asked! And my direct manager agrees with him, but it was my third week. What to do? I feel like I’m going to say something crazy. Any advice?

Anybody else have a desire to bill more hours on a project than you actually work when the project itself is incredibly frustrating? In agency and/or freelance? Because let’s be real, 1 hour of standard work does NOT equal 1 hour of work when someone makes your job incredibly difficult.

How do you get good at thinking on your feet? I find I always need time to think and analyse before being able to answer client queries (even those that are considered simple by others). I don't want to rush and get it wrong. I avoid phone calls for this reason which isn't great when you're in the service industry so it's starting to impact my career.

Anyone here have comorbid anxiety and/or depression? How did you know, and how do you manage it now? I think I might be struggling with one or both and I’m trying to figure out how to proceed. I interviewed for a role with the Enterprise Risk Team at EY. I told them my salary requirements were $105 k before the interview. They said it should be ok if I'm brought in as a Senior 1. After the interview, they said they want to bring me in as a Staff2 at $84k with $3k signing bonus. I'm trying to get on a call to negotiate further...do these numbers sound right to you all?
