Find a firm that offers to pay for licenses and start working in financial services at a brokerage firm. You gain experience and licenses you keep for the next opportunity that presents itself.

Could you look for an internship? That's a great way to get some experience. Many people associate internships with teenagers or those still in college, but that's not always the case.

You are young and have got time to get experience. You could look into getting internships or bookkeeping roles or bank customer service. This will build your experience that you can leverage in the future to apply for other jobs.

What city are you in?

While it's not ideal, you might want to try financial sales of some kind (think IRAs, life insurance, annuities, etc.). I got my start there around 25 and now at 34, I'm beginning my career as a portfolio manager on June 30th.
People are willing to hire individuals with no experience and you can parlay that into a more stable career. You really just need experience of any kind at this point

It's a PM at a small firm, so basically they're gonna teach me everything and I'll make less than a PM at one of the big firms, but it's worth it for the experience. I also passed the level 1 CFA exam
Basically, I went sales to back office ops to portfolio management, networking the whole time and basically letting everyone know I wanna be a PM, then eventually someone was willing to take the chance.

How much is the pay for data roles in the UK? I'm a data analyst with 2 years of experience and a Masters degree in Data Analysis. I have a decent project portfolio in data science. I'm experienced in SQL, Power BI, Excel and Python. I'm eager to land a data analyst or data science role. One of the companies offered me 36K. Is this fair? If not what should I aim for? How much can I negotiate?

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
