I am a detox/resident nurse. Right now we have 51 patients with only 2 nurses on a 12 hour shift. This is unsafe odds, but our DN seems to think this is ok, but at the same time never pitches in to help us. Does not check to see that we get breaks, lunch, etc., like we are not even there!!!! Management is also aware, and seems not to care either, meantime nursing moral in falling deeper!!! We did not get anything for nurses week either, first time in my 43 years of nursing.

Are you able to retire? Congratulations! You've been a nurse for longer than quite a few nurses have been alive. You're AWESOME!

Our employee satisfaction survey is tied to our performance goals. Meaning, if we rate management badly, we cannot meet 10% of our goals which in turn affects our bonuses and raises. We asked HR but they didn’t do anything about it. Is this normal? Is this legal? If not, what else can we do about it?
