Is optum global solutions a service based company i know it is captive of UHG but is the work done is similar to other service based companies like TCS, Infosys , Wipro etc..? And is there any concept on strict timings with check in and checkout time or is it flexible??

My 2 cents. The only time you can say no to a Firm Initiative or Team development work is when you are > 100% chargeable. Based on your utilisation, you are just meeting the target. That helps your RL to say you are just meeting the expectations and justify your rating. Firm Initiatives are not useless as such, but they help in increasing your visibility within the practice. If you really want to grow in the firm, you should take them seriously. You might not be interested in the FI you are asked for, but you can propose any initiative that interests you. Don't be under the misconception that doing day to day work alone will help your growth. This is applicable in any consulting company
The three things you mentioned proposals/RFP/Market research are what wins work for us, so never undervalue them. But I get your point about being asked to do mundane tasks like font change or design change. That's where I mentioned you propose other initiatives that interest you. It could be upskilling your tea via training, writing a white paper on your industry, interviewing for your team etc. It could be anything that interests you and also increases your visibility in the team. But do not be under the impression that doing day to day work is sufficient in consulting. All the best!
