I am currently a staff accountant at a small tax firm. I'm over halfway through my master's degree. I want to go into forensic accounting. I plan on taking the CPA, CFF, CFE, and CFFA exams. I am volunteering as a CASA. After the CPA exam, I plan to look into volunteering for a anti-human trafficking nonprofit with my accounting skills. Are there any other things I should/could be doing to gain experience and be better qualified for a forensic accounting position?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research.
