It really depends on your situation at home.
Pros :
- flexibility
-saves on transport and meals money
-Independence
-Spending time with your family and taking care of them while working
-
Cons:
- you'll find yourself doing overtime without realizing it
- reduced human interaction.. which at first sounds great but you slowly loose your sense of belonging.
- you almost never move, even when you plan to go to the gym it becomes harder and harder to commit to it.
-promotions become hard to ifentify and grab on as you have limited communication with your supervisors and with the team.
- Back and shoulder pain.
this can be a pro or a con depending on you and on your situation. It's good to be close to your family and spend time with them but with time it could become a bit irritating especially if it's you like to work in a quiet environment.
This is what i can say based on my personal experience.. but in the end it really depend on you and on your priorities. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for sharing! I don't have a family yet and I've always been a bit of a homebody so I'm thinking the social aspect won't bother me too much
I've been working from home for over a year and I've been loving it. I agree with PDL 1 here that you don't really feel part of the work environment but I have my wife and a few good friends so I still get to have a social life even if work is a little lonelier. The thing about the gym is definitely real for me though I don't move enough but that's more on us to overcome
Think about it! You get to work from home, which can be a great perk. You don't have to worry about your house being unattended for long hours of work, just make sure to hang out with friends still!
There is definitely a flexibility factor when it comes to working from home. I am able to work whenever and wherever I want as long as I perform my role effectively!
I love being home with my family and my kids most of the time, but I won't lie, I miss the warm company culture I had before when I hung out with my friends at the office.
If you're planning on going fully WFH, you need to be disciplined because supervision is minimal, and you want to hit all your goals in the right amount of time.
