Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine. Maybe I’m just a slow learner/out of my league at the big law firm I’m at.

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

So I'm winding down a three-month LOA for my mental health and burnout. It took a month to feel semi-normal; new meds, new routines, and therapy. Now that I'm closing in on my return date, I feel as though I've made no progress at all. The feeling of dread in dealing with the job is starting to overwhelm me again, and I feel hopeless. I have discussed the mid-career crisis aspect and think I'm still there, I just do not care about the job anymore.
