I am graduating as an MBA from a top 5 b-school of India in 2025. I have a PPO from Accenture Strategy & consulting practice (probably a management consulting analyst role). Last week I got approached by a ZS recruiter for a consultant role. The base salary is almost similar, maybe ZS is offering 5-10% less than AccStrat, but it doesn't matter that much. I am a mid level and have received an offer from a regional big law firm in a non-market paying location. I believe the firm would be a great fit and the location is where I want to be. The biggest issue is money. I’d be lateraling from full cravath in a major market and the initial offer I received is a bit off that (read: 50% salary reduction). While the market is cheaper in some respects, housing is not. How far can I expect this firm to go to in terms of compensation? Any negotiation tips?
