I am having the HARDEST time finding a job outside of the classroom. I’ve been looking since November. I taught for 13 years, opened a school, and was a Dean of Students. I’ve made it to three final interviews and lost them all to internal hires.

Companies do not seem to hire educators who leave the classroom when we have the transferable skills. I’m overly qualified for an administrative assistant position, under qualified for a director position. I’m lost.

Bitter? No. Entitled? No. Maybe taken aback, putting things into perspective. Realizing the friendship was only temporary. You were there when they needed you, but they didn't consider you an actual friend at all.
