I am looking at transitioning from truck driving to either HR or Operations. I have a BS in Business and over 40 certifications for Human Resources, Supply Chain and Operations. I also have management experience. I am willing to relocate and I have applied to numerous positions with no luck. Any advice? Thank you

Entry level HR is going through a complete upheaval currently which may explain the difficulty. Operations is a good choice but very broad in scope. Try and narrow down the type of role within operations. Logistics seems to be in your wheelhouse.

If you are okay with it, I would look into applying for HR roles within the transportation and logistics industry to get your foot in the door. Since you have been a CDL driver you know what employees of those companies do and the politics that are in that industry. YOU GOT THIS! Highly recommend tailoring your resume to tell a story about where you’ve been, where you are now and most importantly where you want to be.

Another question… operations and HR are similar in a-lot of ways, but very different. What do you like about HR what made you go to school for the degree and to get this certification?

At what age did you stop comparing yourself to others and became comfortable with your own path? I can’t stop comparing myself to others who come from more wealth, have more wealth, and are better looking than me. Also have a history of self loathing which doesn’t help.
