Any books/resources to understand the ML algorithms with the maths behind it?

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

In how many days we receive salary slip as I have received my first salary.

How many days E&Y takes in general to release offer? My last discussion with the HR was on 06th Oct, no further communication or discussion initiated for negotiation.

Do you still write thank you emails after interviews? A lot of the roles I interview for these days are coordinated by recruiters so I don’t see the interviewers emails

Is anyone else facing the brunt of working in a service based company and trying to move to a startup product company being dragged down by the 90 days notice period.

I have had a couple of interviews with good startup product companies where the main issue is my 90 days of notice period. Most startups simply run away at the mention of 90 days NP.

Even established product companies shy away at this. Has anyone recently switched despite this long a notice period?

Hey fishies, I have a friend who is interested in becoming a consultant but he’s taken an interesting path, would love your advice on any good angles he could take for applying/ types of roles. He has a bachelors in science (chemistry maybe?) from H/Y/P and after undergrad he took a less traditional route and was working as an instructor for things like tennis, piano, snowboarding, etc.. Favorite statistical modeling technique to use? ANN, SVM, LR, PCA, etc. And any specific reasons? Industry, ease, interpretability, etc.

Has anyone ever taken short-term disability for an arm injury (e.g., broken hand, torn rotator cuff, etc.)? Would you take an offer at EY or Apple? Apple recruiter mentioned that there will be early morning meetings (6 or 7am), EY recruiter said WLB in EY is best for big 4.
