Hey fellow designers,

Is anyone else facing the brunt of working in a service based company and trying to move to a startup product company being dragged down by the 90 days notice period.

I have had a couple of interviews with good startup product companies where the main issue is my 90 days of notice period. Most startups simply run away at the mention of 90 days NP.

Even established product companies shy away at this. Has anyone recently switched despite this long a notice period?

Does anyone know how much aws advisory consultants have to travel or get paid? A general range is fine. Or what the work load and environment look like? I was considering leaving consulting and going industry as an internal role in a big tech company but then this possible opportunity came up for aws consulting.

Can anyone let me know how easy it is to apply to a consulting firm in Dubai directly coming from London? I am currently working at a T2 strategy firm in London and my partner and I want to relocate in ~1.5 years. My firm does not have an office in Dubai whilst my partners firm does. Is it possible to apply straight (rather than moving laterally in London, waiting a few years then transferring?) interested in MBB views too. (I would have roughly 2.5 YOE by then)

If I join the firm as an associate senior in July would I be eligible to promote to experienced senior in august?

How important is a master's degree for your career? Can you have longevity and thrive in the tech world with just a bachelor's? Asking this because I've been preparing for CAT this year and I feel like my preparation is only good enough to get me around 90-95 %ile which is not enough to get a call from the top IIMs. I've been preparing alongside my job and its been a tough 3 months. Should I spend another year preparing and appear for CAT 2023 or should I give up and prepare for interviews?

Looking at starting the CFA journey. Schweser was recommended, but is it worth the added cost? If I'm subscribed to the idea that I am going to be spending 20hrs a week studying, is that sufficient?

Had a very unpleasant experience with the entire interview process at Paytm. First of all they kept all three rounds in a single day . It started from the morning and ended up till the final round at late evenings. After all the rounds were cleared, the HR asked for the expected package, and when I gave him my quote which was just 35% more than my current CTC, he got reluctant and said we only have a budget of an X amount which was just 10% more than my current CTC. Who on earth does that..?

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

They claim to do a lot of research oriented designs, as everyone. But is that really the case or it's like some other service based companies where the UX is almost vague, and happens mostly based on what the managers think to be good?

Does UX have any value or it's just drafting wireframes based on ideations by the managers and then UI designs?

So I am working as a UI UX designer since Jan22. I started with a really good project (everything from the scratch) with research, knowing the user etc. The project went really well. It was my first project that I handled individually. I got another project it also went well. Then I was told to work directly with a client, it's been 2 months already we work late hours and also on weekend (asked by the client). It feels like my personal life is gone.
