This is definitely a really bad time to be looking for a job OP. The job market is really bad and I know people who have been looking for jobs for over a year. I definitely would recommend starting to look now and applying to as many jobs as you can find.
This is contradictory advice, it seems...then again, perhaps not. 🤔😉
Rising Star
There’s no perfect time, but January and September are often good for job searching since budgets reset and hiring picks up. Avoid late December, as things slow down around the holidays.
Fall (August) and winter (Dec/jan) are hiring months for us
But those application cycles begin in May and October respectively so that’s when you should apply, with those target starts in mind
It may not be the case for every org, but I hear that the end of the year can be “use it or lose it” time when it comes to hiring budgets. So there’s definitely a chance that employers are trying to get positions filled before the year ends. I’ve also heard that people tend to not apply as much during the holidays which theoretically means less competition for positions. So my advice, start now!
I generally think of the fall as being a good time to be looking. People are back to work, and it feels like a good time for things to happen. Plus, the Fed made its rate cut and that could mean that the job market will be getting better. It seems like a good time to get a job search started.
Depending on where you are, it’s good if you’re trying to get in the radiology it’s gonna be saturated in about two years so get your schooling done ASAP. It also depends on where you are as well.
Yes try to switch during the month where you have atleast two months worth of bill money accumulated.
Fall/Winter right before the new year is a good time to start looking. As far as actual applying I've personally seen the beginning of Q1 is the best time because by then most companies have planned their budget out and know what positions they can hire for and how much of a salary they can provide. You'd typically get a call for an interview around March/April and start in May.
