Really depends on the level. The bump gets smaller as you increase in level on the consulting side.
I left Deloitte at the C level for a 70% bump.
For what role? Also FAANG I assume
I’m leaving for a ~400% increase lol. Albeit I’m joining a tech company, so there’s typically more upside.
Account Executive / Channel Partner manager roles all seem to have a similar compensation structure at these larger tech companies
Want do you mean by “expected”?
I’ve been targeting around 20% increase in base and ~35% increase in TC but I’ve realized it’s fairly difficult and you have to find the right companies and roles as KPMG pays me really well as an SA with 3YOE
Hard to say without knowing your current comp. People who talk about absurd % pay bumps are typically coming from a low TC.
Like A2 who got a 400% pay bump. That would put me at over $1M. Not happening.
At a manager level, I’m typically selling and delivering work. I was fortunate enough to be in a “Greenfield” practice doing a ton of innovation-based work with cloud vendors, ISVs and such. I think the sweet spot is targeting the full lifecycle, and seeing your vision come to reality. It ends up telling a compelling narrative. Also helps to have some hands-on delivery experience with whatever software you’re applying for (in my case it was AWS and Azure).
