I guess I haven't really noticed that, but I'm a paralegal, so I mostly see paralegal jobs. I've been seeing a lot more part-time positions. I'm not sure what that's all about. It seems like many firms want to hire people in contract or part-time roles.
At work, they would like entry level and mid level experience. It’s within our budget and we can also train employees the way we do things at work. Most feedback I get is if it’s a senior role, some people are hard to train and used to their bad habits.
This might be a budget concern. A lot companies don’t have sufficient funds to pay a senior level
I'm seeing the opposite. Lots of roles for experienced attorneys but not a lot for new or mid level associates
It may appear that way simply because those are the jobs that are being listed. Senior positions are often discovered via networking and word of mouth scenarios.
I decided to apply to those less senior roles anyway. Sometimes they bite. I sometimes watched who got the jobs I applied for, and after seeing a bunch of jobs go to people from unrelated practice areas with less experience than the posting, I figured the posting was inspirational.
