During benefits selection this year , I chose HSA for the first time and I am informed that my account is opened today. While registering on Fidelity, I am asked to chose between FDRXX/FDIC .I would want to chose from available options and invest money. Which option I should be choosing of both ? Also if I can’t chose options on fidelity, what should I do about it ? My firm opts only for Fidelity unless I’m wrong . Happy holidays . Thanks in advance

These are the two options I see . I want to select FDRXX but checking if I’m right . Sorry for blurred image 😀

You can select the first one but after you hit $2k in your HSA you should just invest it in the market. Essentially, this selection doesn’t matter that much. You’ll get .10-.20 cents or so until you hit that $2,000 mark.

Check the fees on the money fund. If those are higher than the yield, pick the bank account (FDIC).

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.

I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?
