McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

I am currently feeling the same way in my career search. Regarding your question, perhaps focus on learning some techniques and skills for roles that you have never done before, those completely outside of your realm. Like learning to surf or shoot a bow and arrow or learning to ballroom dance. New skills that you can add to your resume but that are outside of your current skill set. Not only does learning new skills boost our confidence but it may spark a fire into what's next for you. As an actor, you are not pigeon-holed, you can be ANYTHING!! Perhaps you just need to clear your mind a little to see it.
I found that while my skills fit clearly into a different type of role, my application rarely made it through the initial screening process, even when it had a high match date on the ATS screening tools. There was one instance where I knew the hiring managers and they thought I would be a great fit but HR refused to release my application to the next step to set up interviews.
Make a solid list of your skill sets. What programs you've used for HR, scheduling, POS, data entry... whatever it was. Then use that skill list to see what other kind of positions you are qualified to do. I started out in customer service and slowly gained more skills until I can now manage almost any kind of commercial operation. The rules are always the same, just a different product and culture.
