I applied to a position in march at a firm where I am on really good terms with most of the hiring team. Wasn't selected but it's still open and recruiters still contact me 3x a week about applying as my work fits the posting almost perfectly.

I'm thinking of reaching out to the internal recruiter I sent my info to & asking for feedback on why I wasn't selected. I legitimately want constructive feedback from him on this. Other than a cost to the recruiter's time, how bad of an idea is this?

If it’s outside/third party recruiters contacting you, they’re just trying to make a placement/get your resume. They don’t know you’ve already applied. I’m sure if you tell them you’ve already applied they’ll go silent.

Instead of contacting the internal recruiter, why not raise the issue with the hiring team you’re on good terms with?

If you’re on good terms with the hiring team, reach out to them directly and solicit feedback.

External recruiters don’t have any visibility into the internal process.

H1-B transfer question

I recently accepted an offer to join a company (A) . They started my H1-B transfer and I received today the approval notice for the transfer.

However, I accepted last week a (better) offer at another company (B) and they will start soon my H1-B transfer.

I attend to tell company (A) on Monday that I will not be joining them. Will there be any issue with company B filing for a H1-B transfer soon?

Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?

It is in appropriate to ask what the compensation for a position is after a first interview if they want you to go on three more and the interviewers on my first told me that was above their pay grade to tell me?????

Seems kind of ridiculous for a business to want to waste so much time to find out after a handful of interviews that the pay isnt aligned with my needs ......

I can see in biglaw not bringing up knowing damn well if you get an offer itll likely be high, but this is a midsize
