They may not know what they can offer you specifically. You can always ask for a range of what they could offer for the position and then let them know if that works for you before proceeding.
Absolutely appropriate. I’d say it’s a red flag if they don’t tell you.
I don’t think it’s odd that the first round of interviewers didn’t know the pay range. However, I definitely think you should get that information at a second interview—especially if there are 4 total, which seems excessive.

Except once they have spent that time and decided they want you and know your experience, they are more likely to be willing to negotiate into a range you want. If it were a hard number, you'd likely already know it. I'd keep your focus on getting an offer and then negotiate, especially if they want someone to start right away.
So, i reached out today and we werent so a part ... i told them my floor number and said they will set me up with a meeting with the owner, instead of a second round of individual meetings with his associates.
They were open to the discussion, and human resources all my inquiries and concerns were more than reasonable.
We shall see!
