Time to leave?
Great, thanks for advice!
Literally. I jumped twice in that time and went from 95 to 190 TC.
I agree to be honest about empl dates. My last 2 companies did extensive background checks. I left a company at the end of 2020 after 19 yrs of standard raises (sometimes extra for strong perf). Took a job at 25% increase. Recently started my dream job and doubled my salary from the 19-year job. That took just over 2 yrs. You may need to move a couple of times to double. Also agree to not give your current salary and negotiate, within reason. Know your worth but also understand your competition.
True. I did double it. But I also worked at 3 different companies from 2019-2023.
It isn’t a secret. For pay increases, you need to switch companies. Good luck 🍀
No, most companies could care less about people job hopping. The tenured employees are the ones who suffer with continually training and retraining and picking up the slack. If only they realized that all that turnover costs the company more in the end. This is my experience at a very large company but not with smaller ones.
Can stay at a job but expect to stay at the bottom of your pay band.
Everyone out for themselves. Companies don’t care about anyone except Wall Street and it’s up to you to fund your life and retirement.
It is what it is. The sooner anyone realizes this the better.
We are all soldiers of fortune in the job market
Actually, yes. 2019 base was $145 + 20% bonus, now I’m at base of $250k + 50%
Same. Jumped twice in 2 years and now at dream job with double salary and similar benefits. You may even get more respect coming in to a new place.
