I was forced out of my previous employers 401k plan since I had less than 1k in there. They took out 20% for IRS Withholding. I am planning to roll this into my current employers plan. Is it possible to get that 20% back??

Have a client that missed paying sales tax on some of their receipts in WI. Options? Just amend the monthly?

PTO accrues once a month on the 15th. I was maxed out at the time and used 3 days the week before expecting my accrual to cover about 2 of those days. Instead my pto didn't accrue since I was "maxed."

Can someone let me know what’s the appropriate comp for Bachelors, Masters in Tax/Accounting, CPA? I found out someone in my firm with Bachelors, no CPA, is making same base as myself with CPA and Masters. My reviews have been great! All else equal shouldn’t I be making more? I approached someone I trust from another department who is an executive that told me the firm doesn’t pay you more for credentials as these are considered personal achievements. I am currently working in industry.

I’m in tax but sometimes I feel like I would have been better off in data analytics. I dived right into the automation stuff and now I am working on learning SQL. Any advice? I feel like I could get paid more elsewhere. I’m tired of looking at tax returns.

How long should an interview process be?!

Just went through a 1.5 month interview process. 6 video interviews + test. Smaller company - Tax Research position. Rejected a week after interview 6.

Even at big firms, I've only done 2, maybe 3 interviews. 2-3 weeks max.

Is this the new norm?!
