Don't worry, Marcel just acquired fishbowl and will be deleting your post.
Marcel, like most PR-able holding company news , is a puff of smoke. A haphazardly cobbled together (or about to be cobbled together) piece of pseudo tech created by the B-list offshore Sapient dev teams (since the A teams are probably tied up delivering overpromised and underpriced client deliverables). And they think it will hold a candle to AI being built in the valley by fully funded, dedicated and inspired tech talent ??! NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

It's designed to maximize margin by centralizing operations across hundreds of agencies and upselling network clients across a wide portfolio of services. The dustiness of that model comes from a more fragmented agency market where small guys without the massive overhead or crippling bureaucracy can deliver the same results for a lot less investment AND less headaches / agency fee bloating of the holding company shops. There are also less internal squabbles at the smaller shops, not to mention the alternative of bringing a small group in house and working those FTEs to the bone by dangling corporate incentives in front of them. That's not even bringing in the fact that the big agency model that drives a majority of holding co business was born in the 50s when there were 5 mediums to focus on, whereas now there are maybe 50 or more even for smaller accounts. And tons of young nimble teams able to compete across digital and social just as well if not better than the holding co digital shops, at a fraction of the cost. There are more specific reasons. I could keep going...
A whole secondary market of digital start ups and entertainment / media-hybrid companies hiring ex agency employees to build direct to brand offerings that cut out the big agencies without much impact to the creative product. Vice, New York Times, Facebook/Snap etc. The latter play nice with us for now because our media counterparts still control the digital ad dollars but, how long will that last?
In what way specifically is it dusty
Just going to put this over the top example here 😂

I guess I dispute that the quality of those smaller places is the same as what larger shops produce. Don't buy it really. I buy it for stuff like banners where the creativity is limited anyway.
