I feel like the only real consulting is strategy and everything else is really just bodyshop consulting. Thoughts?

Sometimes, but I usually remind myself that as the startup mantra goes, ideas are worthless without execution. In my mind, the best consultants would do both -- set the direction as well as see it through. Many a good idea has been lost in translation, after all

P2 is right. Strategy work is not selling. Only Tech, go to market, compliance is selling at PwC.

^Truth^

IBM's strategy consulting is equivalent to a sales role. How many times do you guys come up with a recommendation to the client that an IBM product is a solution? Like 100%?

Hahaha... Strat is worthless without execution

If executives can't execute a strategy the company is screwed. Can't outsource everything.

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
