I finally quit my toxic law firm last week. Didn’t have anything lined up, but the abuse was terrible as they constantly berated me and made fun of my disability. I have a very visible physical impairment. Any advice on how to move forward? I’m new to the practice and this is a little scary. Walked out after getting berated for the 5th time in a staff meeting.

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? Does anyone work in a very volume based area of law (i.e. insurance defense, workers comp) but have partners who are perfectionists to an absurd degree? How do you manage to get your billing in when everything always has to be revised?

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

Anyone have any affordable case management software recommendations? I’m looking for something a bit non-traditional as I work for a small nonprofit. Ideally the software would involve document organization/access as well as like a running “log” for folks to post relevant events or work completed for the file.

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? (Small firm, only associate under this partner and have been working at the firm for 2 years).
