I got a job offer as a Safety Compliance Specialist with a focus on Operations/Process Safety. It’s a regional role, so I will manage over a few facilities in my given region. I negotiated my salary at 80k + $600 monthly car allowance + 8-10% annual bonus. I have 7 YOE in Operations & QA/QC in the Oil & Gas sector. I will complete bachelor degree in safety next year, so I was curious is this a reasonable offer to start my Safety career path? Also what are other certifications to better myself?

Sounds decent, but I guess it depends on your location too. So, if you want to pursue certifications. If you are getting your degree in safety you can go for the CSP (certified safety professional) it’s the best certification out there.

If you want to get into construction there is a CHST certification. If you want to do more with industrial hygiene the OHST or possibly the CIH. If you are in the utility business you could try the CUSP.

Got it, thank you for the advice! So those are the goals I have in mind to work towards, starting with the CHST. Once I complete my safety degree, I will pursue my ASP & CSP. Thanks again, much appreciated!

That’s a pretty good offer. Is it a regular 40hr work week or are working nights and weekends? For a start I’d say that’s pretty good and with 3 to 4 years you can expect a good bump in pay.

Additionally, I was an active safety volunteer during my 7 years in Operations & Quality. This led to my pursuit for a career in Safety.

With that being said I told her that I would complete my certificate by the summer around the time she would make partner. Should I mention to her Monday that I completed my paralegal certificate in hopes that the raise will be bigger or should I wait until June when she makes partner.thoughts?

I have just started my journey in Salesforce and I have started working on Salesforce Vlocity. Order management to be specific. I wanted to know what are the opportunities and what kind of job market is there in Salesforce/Vlocity.

Also is it good for learning to start off with Vlocity/Order Management right off cause it is a bit confusing for me.

Some guidance would be useful

I am grateful they find value in this , specially as I’m currently in pursuit of my bachelors degree in occupational safety and health . Hey everyone. I recently excepted a safety position with a software dev. company. The workforce is largely hybrid/remote. I’m having a hard time finding items to address. I’ve been given the opportunity to shape the role but can’t seem to bring value in a way that was easily seen in higher risk professions such as construction. Do any of you have some resources I can draw upon? All questions and answers are welcome.
