Are you kidding me? They're essentially saying, "Hey, you're doing more work, but we're not going to compensate you for it." It's not just about the LinkedIn update; it's about the value and respect you deserve. When they say "we could discuss it in the next quarter," that's just corporate speak for "don't hold your breath." Stand up for yourself and demand real recognition, not just empty titles. This isn't a promotion; it's a demotion in disguise.
Is it more work/different position (and a true promotion), or simply a title change/revision? Not sure if you have the option, but I declined a promotion in the past until the money came with it.
