I would ask for more 100%. If they don’t give it to you.. walk to the other one. Staffing agencies all have the same rate from the client.
Tip: If that other agency is giving you $30 more.. that probably means there’s still more they can give you. I would say another $5-10 extra on top of that.
Please don’t use CC moving forward. It’s very clear they are leeches. Just look at how much they are trying to pocket. They are the worst.
Agree. They are absolutely the worst & last year I would have NEVER used them, but unfortunately this year I have no choice. Things are looking up and as long as the steady work continues I will no longer use them.
take the interview with the agency (which is tomorrow) then go back to CC and tell them I want more an hour?
Or tell them now before I even do the interview?
At this point I will not take the gig for the little $ they are offering knowing they are taking at least half.
Woah. Vultures!!!!!!
I HATE them..
Well since you probably signed all their paperwork, CC represents you to that agency even though they contacted you. If only they contacted you before you engaged CC. You can try and ask CC for more money. But you cannot take the job directly without probably being sued by CC. Also, check the timing of the contract.
Yea I’m going to still go through them because they already submitted me, it’s more about asking them to up the rate and not take over half. Fortunately, I haven’t signed anything for them in almost 10 years so I doubt it’s still valid.
I've worked w CC years ago and I agree they're sketchy now. Solomon Page, Talener, Onward Search, 25/7 are just a few recruiters I've worked with that are more reputable if this doesn't come together. There's also two freelancers group on Facebook that have been helpful. Search for Omnific Creatives or NYC Ad Jobs & Networking. Drop me a note if I can assist you. Best of luck.
*24/7 lol. I haven't had my coffee yet.
